About VolleyPad

The paper scout sheet, rebuilt for the way matches actually move.

VolleyPad™ is a digital scouting notepad for volleyball coaches — “Volley” plus “Pad,” as in notepad. It grew out of a literal one: the drawer of paper scouting sheets a coach kept on every opponent. Coaches chart opponent rotations, attack tendencies, and serve-receive patterns before a match, then keep working those diagrams live from the bench as the match unfolds.

Paper sheets get lost, get smudged, and retire after one match. VolleyPad keeps your scouting organized by organization, team, and opponent, so a season's worth of intel is in one place and ready the next time you face them.

Pre-match work is charted in one color; live in-match updates layer on top in a second, so new intel never buries the historical record. And every mark you make becomes data: pass ratings, hitting averages, attack outcomes, all broken out across the six rotations instead of lumped into a match-wide average. When the plan is set, export a print-ready PDF for your players.

VolleyPad lives in three places. In the film room, pre-scout an opponent from video and chart their tendencies onto the diagram. On the bench, work the same diagrams live in real time — the iPad app charts fully offline in gyms with no signal, so a dead wi-fi connection never costs you a rotation. Then at the desktop after the match, the companion web editor at volleypad.com opens the same scout in any modern browser to polish the report, share it with your staff, and print for your players.

VolleyPad is made by VolleyPad LLC, a service-disabled veteran-owned company in New York. It began as a proof of concept shared with club and college coaches in spring 2026, and was developed and beta-tested with them. It exists because coaches deserved a better way to scout from the bench.

Read the match. Track the tendencies. Make the adjustment.
