VolleyPad

The volleyball scouting notepad

Read the match. Track the tendencies. Make the adjustment.

Every mark becomes data. Pass ratings roll into passer ratings, attacks and outcomes into hitting averages, all broken out across the six rotations - not lumped into a match-wide average. Built for the film room, the bench, and the desktop after the match.

Every mark becomes data

The chart is the data entry. As you draw passes, approaches, and attacks, VolleyPad is building your report underneath: per-player passer ratings, per-player hitting averages, and outcomes broken out for each of the six rotations - so the adjustment you make at the timeout is based on what actually happened in Rotation 3, not the whole match.

The full 12-box overview - both stops of all six rotations in one view.
Player stats derived from your marks - passer ratings and hitting averages.
A single rotation with passes, approaches, and attack outcomes charted.

A Game Plan for every opponent

VolleyPad reads every report you have on an opponent and writes a plan for each rotation: the passer to serve and her zone, their hitters and what each tends to do, and one take-away. Tendencies come in real volleyball language - line or cross, landing zones, tips - with a heat map of where each hitter’s swings land. It speaks only when the sample supports it, shows its sources, and your own notes always come first.

One card per rotation - serve target, ranked hitters with their tendency and stats, a heat map, and the take-away.
Tap any court to enlarge it - where each ranked hitter's swings land, filtered by phase and attacker depth.

Offline-first volleyball scouting - no gym Wi-Fi required.

Most gyms have terrible signal. VolleyPad is offline-first on iPad: chart the whole match - every rotation, every mark, every substitution - with no connection at all. When you get back to Wi-Fi or LTE, your scouting report syncs to the cloud automatically and shows up in the web editor for the rest of your staff.

Chart the full rally on a touch canvas

Serve, pass, set, attack - all on a fast, touch-first court canvas built for the sideline. One clean gesture per mark; no menus in the way.

Opponent scouting and self-scout

Build a season of intel on every opponent, and turn the lens on your own team when you want to see how you look from the other side of the net.

Pre-scout from film, live-update on game day

Chart from film in the days before the match; the data carries into your live scouting report on game day. New marks appear in a distinct color so what you added from the bench never buries your pre-match work.

Rotation Helper for 5-1 and 6-2

Skip the blank-canvas start. The Rotation Helper pre-fills standard 5-1 or 6-2 serve-receive alignments (libero optional) so you begin every rotation with the base already on the court.

Print-ready PDF scouting reports

Export a clean PDF from any Scouting Report - the full 12-box rotation overview plus per-rotation detail pages - ready to print for the pre-match walk-through or send digitally to your staff and players.

Team roles you control

Share reports digitally with staff and players through team roles - you decide who can edit and who is view-only. Coach, assistant, scout, and player permissions are built in.

iPad with Apple Pencil, plus a companion web editor

Chart live during the match on iPad - Apple Pencil supported for fast, precise marks - and use the companion web editor at volleypad.com to build, review, and polish your scouting reports from any computer. Available on iPad and any computer via the web editor. Not yet available on iPhone or Android.

Opponent scouting for club, school, and college coaches

VolleyPad is built for the volleyball coach who scouts: head coaches, assistants, scouting coordinators, and stats staff. Clubs run 3-set reports; high schools and colleges run 5-set reports with Advanced Set Tracking. Pricing scales with team count - see the plans.
